Death

FALLSTON - Mr. Dwight Warren Dellinger Sr. , 73, of 3943 Fallston-Waco Road, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
Born Dec. 30, 1936, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Broadus Amzi Dellinger and Carrie Blanche Hoover Dellinger. He retired form Carolina Freight after 30 years of service as a mechanic. Dwight was a member of Fallston Baptist Church and the Ruth Boaz Sunday School Class. He also served in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Ann Brooks Dellinger; infant son, Kenneth David Dellinger; two brothers, Glenn and Rev. Harold B. Dellinger; and two sisters, Marilyn Dellinger Hoyle and Frances Dellinger Williams. Mr. Dellinger is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lillian Furr Dellinger; three sons, Warren Dellinger Jr., and David Dennis, both of Fallston and Mike Dennis of Claremont; daughter, Lisa Dellinger Albea of Shelby; sister, Elizabeth Massey and husband, Lloyd, of Dudley; nine grandchildren, Holly Ann Nodine and husband, Bryant, Alisha Albea, Amber Albea, Jordan Albea, Heather Dennis, David J. Dennis, Steven Dennis, Alaina Dennis and Gavin Dennis; two great-grandchildren, Madison Nodine and Taylor Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral: Thursday, March 18, 6 p.m., Fallston Baptist Church, Fallston

Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., before the service, at the church.
