Death

Mary "Pat" Furr, age 74, wife of the late Otis Pete Furr, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Furr was born in Indianapolis, IN, a daughter of the late George A. Slinger and Loretta M. Tragesser Slinger. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Furr was employed by Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Conway. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by; two brothers, Kenneth and George Slinger; and a sister, Marlene Hanley. Survivors include; her two sons, Mark W. Furr of Conway, Rodney Furr of Mt. Holly, NC; her four grandchildren, Stephania Smith, Rachel Stepp, Tiffany Furr, Jeremy Furr; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Reese of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2014 with Father John Duraisamy officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM during visitation.
