Death

HIGH POINT- Mrs. Kathleen Parham Furr, 87, of the High Point Place died Saturday April 8, 2006 at High Point Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Monday at Sechrest Chapel on East Lexington Ave. by Dr. Glenn L. Myers Jr. Interment will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Mrs. Furr was born October 18, 1918 in Wake County the daughter of William A. Parham and Irah Henderson Parham. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, George R. Parham and Lois Drake. On September 14, 1940 she married John Richard Furr. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Rodney Parham Furr and wife Dianne of Salem, Va. and Dr. Richard Michael Furr Sr. and wife Lana of Greensboro; two sisters, Azlie Williams of High Point and Doris Sossaman of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Dr. Richard Michael Furr Jr., David A. Furr, Jeffrey T. Furr and Cydney F. Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Paul Miller Furr and Matthew Richardson Furr. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday. The family requests memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr. # 999, Charlotte, NC 28215-3298 or Christ United Methodist Church, 1300 North College Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
