CONCORD Mrs. Doris Geneva Stallings Furr, 80, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 at The Gardens of Taylor Glen. A Memorial Celebration of Doris's life will be held at 3 p.m. today (Sunday, Aug. 16), in the chapel at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Peter Brouilette and Reverend Jessie Watkins will share in the officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Furr, born Nov. 17, 1934 in Cabarrus County, was the daughter of the late William Silas Stallings and Jane Harvell Stallings. She was preceded in death in 2011 by her husband, Arthur Jason "Jack" Furr Jr. Doris was known for her hospitality and love of family. At every opportunity, Doris shared her special cakes, pies and other homemade desserts. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens maintaining God's beauty and enjoyed reading God's word. Doris valued spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sweet dog, Tootsie. She was a member of Friendship Southern Baptist Church. She was a thoughtful friend to all and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. Doris will be dearly missed. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Baggarly and husband, Eric of Concord and Angela Case and husband, Ben of Great Falls, Va.; grandchildren, Jeremy Baggarly and wife, Christy, Natalie Eagleburger and husband, Matt and Ben Case; great-grandchildren, Reid and Colton Baggarly and Marian Eagleburger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina Foundation, 1199 Hayes Forest Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106, Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047. Wilkinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
