Death

South Carolina, Pacolet - Carl Ray Furr, 74, husband of Betty Furr, died December 25, 2010 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born February 12, 1936 in Stanly County, NC, he was a son of Mattie Gardner Huneycutt of Albemarle, NC and the late William Riley Furr. He was retired from the Timken Company, Gaffney Plant and was a part of the Zion Hill Baptist Church Family. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are four sons, Dolan Furr of Pacolet, Carlton Furr and wife Pam of Easley, Myron Furr and wife Tammy of Southaven, MS, Robin Furr and wife Robin of Cowpens; two sisters, Annie Lois Dennis of Albemarle, NC, Kay Frances Walker of Mt. Pleasant, NC; one brother, Billy Furr of Kannapolis, NC. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Floyce Smith and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, at Bobo Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Keith Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
