KANNAPOLIS — The funeral for Claudine Furr LaFevers will be held at 2 p.m Wednesday at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev Jerry Haas. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and the remainder of the time at the home of a daughter, Lena L. Sellers of 607 S. Franklin St., China Grove. Born Nov. 15, 1918, in Rock Hill, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Estelle Snipes Smith Furr. She had retired in 1962 as an inspector in the packaging department at Cannon Mills Co., Plant 1, after 40 years of service. She was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Her husband, Willard Davis LaFevers, died in 1973. Survivors, in addition to her daughter, include a son, James D. LaFevers of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, A.B. Hammett of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Mrs LaFevers, 67, of 1010 Michigan Ave., died Sunday after being in declining health for a year.
