Death

Fred Murne Luther 81, of Norwood, died Saturday Morning, March 24, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, March 26, 2012 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. Rev. Mark Little will officiate and burial will follow in Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Monday Afternoon at the funeral home. Mr. Luther was born February 28, 1931 in Stanly County. He was a son of the late Norman and Cora Edna Furr Luther. He was a US Air Force Veteran and a Retiree of Collins and Aikman in Norwood. He is survived by his son Alvin Luther and wife Reba of Norwood, his daughter Audrey Michaels and husband John Lehto of Kannapolis and his brother Ernest "Pete" Luther and wife Alene of Norwood. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Sasser Luther and his sister Muriel Luther Furr.
