Death
May Corley of Tecumseh died Wednesday in Tecumseh. She was 91.She was born Oct. 26, 1908, in Tishomingo. She was the daughter of Will and Ida (Furr) Lovett.
She attended Prairie View School near Tishomingo. She was reared in the Tishomingo area.
She lived in Oklahoma City from 1929 until 1949. She then moved to Detroit for three years before returning to Oklahoma City in 1953.
Mrs. Corley lived in Maud, Texas, from 1956 until 1980 and had resided in Tecumseh since 1980.
She married Chester S. Sliger, who preceded her in death.
On April 4, 1929, she married Troy Corley, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1982.
Mrs. Corley was a homemaker. She was a very active member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Bob Corley and Ewel Corley; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include five children, Troylene and Brad Thayer of Tulsa; Arthur V. and Oleta Corley of Claremore; Chester S. and Martha Sliger of Tecumseh; Le and Matt Schumacher of Muskogee; Sue Hart of Oklahoma City; 23 grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Elder Sonny Huckaby and Elder Bill Huckaby, both of Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Sunnylane Cemetery.
