Death
ALBEMARLE — Lona Mae Moss Furr, 90, of 230 N. Fourth St., died Tuesday at 11:55 p.m. at Piedmont Nursing Center. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, conducted by the Rev. Harold McDonald. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday night from 7 to 9. Born July 16, 1896, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Dolphus Augustus and Bessie Lee Hamilton Moss. A home maker, she was a member of Albemarle First Baptist Church. Her husband, A.A. Furr, died in 1971. Survivors include three sons, Alma L., Bill M. and Ted P. Furr, all of Albemarle; two sisters, Emma M. Rogers of Albemarle and Dora Lee Miller of Rockwell; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.Endnotes
