MRS. MAGGIE RAY KILLED BY STORM Local Matron Struck by Lightening At Dairy Barn Near Home Friday Afternoon Mrs. Maggie Ray, 61 years old, widow of John A. Ray, was kiilled instantly by lightening during a hard rain and electrical storm here about 4 o'clock Friday afternoon. Mrs. Ray had gone to the barn, near the home on North El Paso Avenue, to milk, just before the storm struck. Her body was found at a fuseplug which had been blown in the barn and it was believed the fatal charge reached her over the electric wiring in the barn. A hard wind which accompanied the storm did considerable damage to trees in the city but no houses were damaged. Mrs. Ray is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Medford Hannon of Russellville; three nieces whom she reared, Mrs. Clyde Jackson, Russellville; Mrs. Wood Williamson, Dardanelle; and Mrs. Finnis Ashmore, Paris; three brothers, Levi Furr, Muskogee, Okla; Albert Furr Tulsa, Okla. and Ira Furr, Dover; and one sister, Mrs. Tom Roberts, Dover. Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. L. L. Riley, pastor of the church, in chargte, assisted by Rev. E. Burton, of Pine Bluff. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery, with the Gardner-Pate Funeral directors in charge. Pallbearers will be: Active - Johnny Little, John Holbrook, Lester Parker, Jim Tucker, Foster Barnet, Holden Vance, Rupert Talkington. Honorary - Alec Lemley, Tom Henry, Dr. R. L. Smith, Dr. Robert Hood, Dr. Louis M. Smith, Ben Taylor, A. L. Talkington, Lieut.-Gov. Robert Bailey, Cliff Bowden, Will Turner, C. M. Richmond, Honor Spaulding, W. J. Bowden, Atkins.
