ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Odessa Smith Furr 64 of Rt 3 Albemarle died this morning in Stanly County Hospital. Funeral services will be 4 pm on Thursday at Bear Church where she was a member by Elder Chiff Allen and Elder W. B. Aaron. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle from 7 to 9 Wednesday night. Born March 14 1912 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late John Lemuel and Minter Eudy Smith. She was a retired textile worker. Survivors include her husband Lonnie V. Furr, one brother, Jim Smith of Mt. Gillead, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hatley of Rt 3 Albemarle, Mrs. Flora Hutchinson of Polkton and Mrs. Ruth Dennis of Ellerbe.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, August 25, 1976
