Death
BATON ROUGE, LA. - Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge, La., for Jesse Furr McMullan Scoggin, 90, of Baton Rouge and formerly of Picayune, who died Feb. 26, 2009, at Hospice of Baton Rouge. Entombment will be in Lane Mausoleum at Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Ryals Furr and Ruby Thornhill Furr, and her first husband, Chet McMullan. Survivors include her husband, Joe F. Scoggin of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Martha Ann McMullan Martin of Prairieville, La., and Jeannene McMullan Kogler of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Christine Carsley of Madison, Iva Loy Chambers of Hattiesburg, Thomasine Blackwell of Sherman, Texas, and Charleen Schrock of Picayune; a brother, David A. Furr of Monroe, La.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge, Hospice of Baton Rouge or Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home at 825 Government St. in Baton Rouge and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.Hattisburg American, February 28, 2009
