Services for Winnie Boyte McCoy of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. McCoy, 81, died Oct. 31, 2002, at Haven Hall Nursing Home. She was born in Brookhaven on June 28, 1921, to Charlie Boyte and Lou Crane Boyte. She was a beautician. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a member and worthy matron of Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charlie McCoy; her brother, J. Q. Boyte; and her sister, Helen Boyte Brown. Survivors are her daughters, Bertie Fife of Baton Rouge and Charlene Smith of Zachary; her brothers, R. W. Boyte of New Albany and John David Boyte of Brookhaven; her sisters, Billie Jean Roberts of Denham Springs and Mary Lou Pate of New Orleans; and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
