Death
Clinton Andrew Furr, age 79, died Thursday May 27, 1993, at the home of his sister, Katherine Howard, in Amory, Ms. He was a retired farmer and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Union County. He was born in Pontotoc County and lived in Bridgeport, before moving to Mississippi. During World War II, he served for four years in the Field Artillery, U.S. Amy, including combat service in Europe. He taught Sunday School and Bible studies at various churches in Union and Benton Counties for several years. Services were held May 29 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Union County, Ms., with Rev. Gerald Chaffin and Rey. Warren Black of Amory officiating. Burial was held at the church cemetery with United Funeral Service of New Albany in charge. Pallbearers were Leroy Jones, Jack McCollum, Billy Cook,Holcomb Scott, Larry Whiteside, and Jack Scott.Honorary pallbearers were James Furr, J.A. Byers, and Charles Boatner. Mr. Furr is survived by sister, Katherine Howard of Amory; brother Howard Furr of Bryan; two nieces, and three nephews.Military
