Notes
Death
Olive Catherine Furr Stinnett was born near Dardanelle December 14, 1838, died September 2, 1922, near Appleton at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. McCracken. She was a granddaughter of Henry Stinnett one of the pioneers of Arkansas, and was a gentleman of the old school. She was married December 20, 1859, to Jess N. Crites, and moved to Pope County. To this union was born four children, two of whom, Mrs. C. D. Weir, of Wrightsville, and Mrs. John R. Linker, survive her. Jess N. Crites died in 1872. She was married to Capt. Adam Furr in 1875. He died August 21, 1905. They had three children, two of whom are living, Mrs. J. W. Roberts of Bakers Creek and Mrs. L. C. McCracken of Appleton. She was a kind neighbor, a true friend, a living mother, beloved by all who knew her. Mrs. Furr had been a consistent member of the M. E. CHurch for nearly sixty years. She was buried in the Cemetery at Dover. "I cannot say, and I will not say, that she is dead. She is just away, with a sweet smile and a wave of her hand, she left us, and went to the glory land." --A friend.Endnotes
