Beavers Armstrong Former Police Officer
Beavers Armstrong, 70, of 1063 Ellis Ave. died Monday at his home.
Services are to be at 2:00 PM today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral
Home Chapel with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Armstrong was a native of Hazlehurst and a resident of Jackson
for 42 years . He was a graduate of Hazlehurst High School and a
Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Jackson Police
Department for 28 years. He worked for the Department of Law
Assistance for 10 years where he was Law enforcement Coordinator.
He retired as deputy chief of Police. He was a member of the
Tennessee and Mississippi Sheriff and Peace Officer Association,
The Shriners and the Pearl Masonic Lodge No.23 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Helen S. Armstrong; Son Wilton E.
Armstrong of Jackson; Step- Daughter, Mrs. C.R. ( Jean ) Homas
of Jackson; Mother Mrs minnie B. Armstrong of Jackson ; 6 Grand
Children , 7 Great-Grandchildren.
