Death
Lettie Rutledge Wallace, 78, of Florence, MS went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 9, 2011. A private family service was held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS with Rev. Hobson Toney and Rev. Mitchell Hedgpeth officiating. Interment followed in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Wallace, a retired secretary for Lindsay Wire Weaving, was born December 3, 1932 in Brookhaven, MS to James Oliver Rutdedge and Marie Furr Rutledge. She was married to the late Lee E. "Ed" Wallace, Sr.. She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Florence, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Bernice Armstrong; her son, Jimmy Wallace; and her grandson, Joshua Wallace. Survivors include daughters, Linda Polk (Roger) of Florence, Regina Bass (Richard) of Florence, and Teresa Purvis (Pat) of Flora; son, Lee E. "Ed" Wallace, Jr. (Patricia) of Terry; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Matt Polk, Tyler Polk, Casey Welch, Justin Purvis, Sammy Bass and Douglas Welch. The family would like to thank the staff at Briar Hill Rest Home in Florence for their loving care to our precious momma, grandmother, and great grandmother for the past several years.
