Death
Mrs. Carole Lee Furr Waller, 91, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral will be Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Clear Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Lipe officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. Carole was born on April 2, 1931, to the late Maude and Raymond Furr, Sr. She was the youngest of five children and married Roy Howard Waller in April 1950. She was a graduate of Courtland High School and attended the University of Mississippi. Carole was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, WMU director and member of the flower committee. Mrs. Waller worked as a sales associate for twenty-five years at J.E. Neilson Co. on the Oxford Square. Her culinary skills were well known and appreciated, especially her famous homemade chocolate pies, which she often shared with family and friends. Carole also loved flower gardening and reading Billy Graham’s books. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Waller; one brother, Raymond T. Furr, Jr.; and three sisters, Marjorie Smith, Eunice Morris, and Mary Louise Coggins. Mrs. Waller is survived by her three children, Patricia Powers (Don) of Batesville, MS, Douglas Lee Waller (Alice) of Denham Springs, LA, and Kenneth Neal Waller of Oxford, MS; seven grandchildren, Laurie Steele, Justin Waller, Jessica Waller Dunigan (Britt), Tara LeeAnne Waller, Jon Huber, Pete Waller (Racheal), and Kimberly Waller Jacobs (Allan); one niece, Raychel Furr Bartek (Ron) of Annandale, Virginia, six great-grandchildren and two on the way.
