MIDLAND — Mr. James Thomas Brooks, 70, retired elevator inspector, died Jan. 20, 1989, at Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle. Funeral 1s 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Mill Grove United Methodist Church. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Ruth; daughter, Jan Brooks; brothers, Carrell Brooks, John Brooks of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Eloise White of Locust, Mrs. Geraldine Holbrooks of Stanfield, Mrs. Olive Biggers.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 21, 1989
