The Union Democrat - May 29, 1953 - Page 8Robert L. Dunn, 87, dies at home near Columbia Wed.
Columbia, May 29 -- Robert Lee Dunn, 78, retired financier and promoter of the bay district, died at his home on the marble quarry road, north of Columbia late Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Dunn ws a native of Memphis, Tenn., and had resided in California since 1921. During that time he was a frequent visitor at his summer home near Columbia. Through his vocation, he was associated with the construction of the San Francisco-Oakland bay bridge. Funeral services for Mr. Dunn will be held from the Terzich and Wilson Chapel in Sonora at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, followed by internment in the Columbia City Cemetery. The deceased leaves his widow, Mrs. Edna L. Dunn, of Oakland; two daughters, Mrs. Idris Holcomb of Oakland and Mrs. Lura Kelly of Arlington, Va.; and a son, Robert L. Dunn, Jr., of Columbia. Mr. Dunn was a member of the Bohemian and Olympic Clubs of San Francisco.
