Death
The funeral of Mrs. Mary J. Jones, 68 years old, long-time resident of Arkoma and Peno, Okla., was conducted Thursday afternoon at the New Hope cemetery near Spiro. She died late Wednesday at the home of her son, Clint Jones at Arkoma. Mrs. Jones came to the Fort Smith area when she was seven years old. She had been ill for several years. Survivors, besides the son, include a daughter, Mrs. Lela Elkins, Peno, a sister, Mrs. Louise Schultz, Oklahoma City, and eight grandchildren. Edwards Funeral home was in charge of funeral arrangements.Times Record, Fort Smith, Arkansas, April 28, 1938
