Death

William E. McDonald, age 85, of Wexford, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Beloved husband for 30 years of Valerie (Bencivenga) McDonald. Loving father of Michael McDonald (Susan), Patrick McDonald (Janette), Catherine Cianciola (Brian), Matthew McDonald (Catherine), Tracey Flanders (Nicholas), William McDonald, Paul McDonald (Mary), Mark McDonald (Jackie), and the late Maureen Furr (Greg); brother of Thomas McDonald (Joann), Frank McDonald (Cynthia), and Jane Wolfgang (John); also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William was a lifelong educator in the public and private sectors. He taught for the University of Pittsburgh School of Education, was Director of the Falk Laboratory School and served on the North Hills School Board. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University and earned his masters and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. William grew up in Indian Lake, NY where he was a multi sport athlete. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed raising and showing champion Collies and traveled extensively. Family will welcome friends on Thursday, May 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 (Franklin Park/Wexford), where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m..
