Death
Ricky Lisenby, 72 of Locust NC, went home to be with Jesus on April 3, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug 19, 1953 to the late Minnie Arbutus Furr and Earl Claudy Lisenby of Concord. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd, Boyd and sister Janice Whitley. Ricky is survived by his daughters Sherrie (Scottie) Rush and Amanda (Bryan) Cranford, and son Curt (Melissa) Childress. He is also survived by Carolyn Capps the mother to his children, and his sister and best friend Sheila (Ray) Helms. He has 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Ricky enlisted in the US Army in 1970 and served 6 years in the reserves. He loved his country and was very proud of his service. Ricky's family was his first priority, he was a very devoted Father and Grandpa, and gave of himself freely for his loved ones. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, driving fast cars and motorcycles, watching westerns, shooting his gun, playing cards and fishing. If you spent any time with him you would learn fast how much he enjoyed joking around, telling stories and making people laugh. He will be deeply missed by all of those who called him Daddy, brother, Grandpa and friend. A Funeral Service will the held Friday April 10, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Cabarrus Funeral Cremation & Cemetery, located at 3892 NC-Hwy 73 E. in Concord, NC 28025. Ricky will be laid to rest after a Graveside Service at 4:00 PM. "A limb has fallen from our family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says Grieve not for me.
