Retired from E.I. Dupont - SRS SRS AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Winslow Smith Goodspeed, 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Peggy Burch Goodspeed, son of the late Raymond Winslow and Alta Smith Goodspeed passed into paradise on Monday, November 22, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Charles Qualls officiating. Interment will follow 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2004 in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah. Mr. Goodspeed was a native of Rutland, Vermont and had made Augusta his home for the past 51 years. He had retired from Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site after 38 years of service as an operator. Mr. Goodspeed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Additional survivors include one son, Raymond Winslow Goodspeed, II, Augusta; two daughters, Sherry Padgett, Avery, Mary Alta Goodspe ed, Augusta; one brother, Elmer Goodspeed, Rutland, VT; four grandchildren, Saulena Vilano, Celeste Angela Roberts, Winslow Jason Padgett, Joshua Winslow Goodspeed; five great grandchildren. Mr. Goodspeed was predeceased by his brother Morton Goodspeed. The family suggest that memorials be made to the St. Joseph Hopice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904 A visitation with the family will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 26 , 2004 at the funeral home.
