Notes
Death
Mary Nelson's maiden name was Dalton. Mary's mother's maiden was Eagan. Husband Harry was just mistaken - it's a man thing. Mary was the daughter of Patrick Dalton and Johanna Mary Eagan. In May 1885 Mary gave birth to a daughter, Mary. In June 1885 she filed a charge of seduction with promise of marriage against James Clarence Timblin. Clarence was jailed. Charges were dropped when he married Mary on 12 June 1885. The marriage didn't last long – Mrs. Mary Timblin was found living alone in the 1886 Galveston city directory. In February 1896 Mrs. Mary Timblin married Harry W. Nelson. Her marrying under the name of Mary Timblin probably contributed to Harry's mistaking her maiden name.Endnotes
