Death
Marcus Arville Seabolt was a son of Wilson Celley Seabolt (1846-1935)and Martha Perthinia Spillars (1843-1905). He was a grandson of Soloman S. Seabolt (1803-1879) and Catherine Stophel Flowers Seabolt ( 1807-1880) Marcus was husband to Mary Miranda Caves (1883-1928) . Marcus was father of Orris Alton Seabolt (1908-1932), Ritchie P. Proctor (1910-1965), Oakland Turner Seabolt (1912-1964), Isola Theda Apuzzo Monheit (1918-1988) and Marcus Arville Jr. Seabolt (1924-1984). In 1900 Marcus was a Field Staff Sargent in the Army, served in Suriago Islands, Phillipine Islands and some foreign countries. He was a special agent for the Massachusetts Protective Insurance Association, and a member of DeRosey C. Cabell Camp, United Spanish American War Veterans. Mr. Seabolt was also a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church . He came to Ft Smith Arkansas in 1919. He also was a United States Deputy Marshal in Indian Territory and Ft Smith , Sebastian County Arkansas. He rode on occasion for Judge Parker,working out of the world's most famous criminal court. The United States Marshals that enforced law and order by Judge Parker were initially appointed by the President of the United States, with Marcus A Seabolt included. Marcus was married a second time after Mary died to Gertrude 'Gertie' Griffey McCormack and had two step-sons Fred and Billy McCormack. Gertie was a daughter of Benjamin Graves Griffey and Adella Latimer.Endnotes
