Death

Our beloved Mom, (Grandma, GG) Frances Virginia Wheeler, 93 of Falls Church, Virginia passed away on October 13, 2024. Frances was born on October 1, 1931 to John and Elizabeth Pusso in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She was one of ten children. She graduated from Georges Township High School in 1949. Frances moved to Washington, DC in March of 1951 and worked for NSA. She met her future husband at the same boarding house she lived in. They married on January 15, 1953. They continued to live in Washington, DC before moving to Virginia. They moved to Falls Church, Virginia in 1961 where they purchased their first and only home in Pimmit Hills and raised their five children. Our mom was a stay at home mom for several years before returning back to work. She was employed at Mel Pinto Imports, Inc. as a bookkeeper for over 40 years. When the company was sold, she continued to work for the new owner until she was 86 years old. Frances is survived by her children Barbara Furr (Floyd), James Wheeler, Jr. (Linda), Michael Wheeler (Patricia), and Catherine Sprinkle. Grandchildren Jesse Furr (Virginia), Tracy Nantz (Samuel), Jacob Wheeler (Kristen), Corey Wheeler, Joshua Wheeler, Melissa Bergey (Dustin), Shelly Theroux (Joshua), Justin Wheeler (Aubrey), Lucas Wheeler (Hima), Danielle Hakenson (Richard), and Cody Sprinkle (Melissa). Great Grandchildren Tristan, Aveleigh, Audrey, and Tatum Furr, June and Rhys Nantz, Austin Wheeler, Christian Alldredge, Joy Bergey, Allison and Caleb Wheeler, Brianna and Vivian Hakenson. Brothers John Scott (Charlotte), Richard Puzzo (Carol), and Jim Pusso (Helen), and many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Pusso, husband James F. Wheeler, Sr., son John C. Wheeler, brothers William and Donald Pusso, sisters Lucille Moore, Josephine Giachetti, Katherine Bell, and Stella Wandel. A funeral wake for Frances will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A funeral wake will occur Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A funeral mass will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at External Service Location, 8601 Wolftrap Rd SE, Vienna, VA 22182. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at External Service Location, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172.
