Death

Virginia Murphree Jones, 86, of 1941 Shady Grove Road, wife of the late Paul "Jack" Jones, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007. Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Hovie and Jessie Winchester Murphree. Mrs. Jones was retired from Sangamo Electric Company and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Sarah Rampey of Pickens, Doris Simpson of Easley, Jane Farry of Greenville, Jackie Furr of Pickens and Donna Holliday of Six Mile; a son, David Jones of Sunset; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reverend Marvin Murphree of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Frank Murphree of Pickens; and a sister, June Huddleston of Taylors. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jo Jones; and two brothers, Don and Aaron Murphree. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
