Death

John Layton, age 47, of Littlefield, Texas, died Monday, May 20, 2024 in Muleshoe. He was born September 18, 1976 in Liberal, Kansas to Joe Layton and Jackie (Pothuisje) Rowe. John was laid back, but a hard worker. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing. He also liked to tinker with anything. John was a free spirit and loved to be on the go. Most of all, he loved spending time with his kids. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jackie. John is survived by his girlfriend, Keylee Smith; his five sons, James Layton, John Layton, Brody Layton, Stetson Layton and Aiden Layton; his four daughters, Cassandra Furr, Makayla Layton, Makenna Layton and Makynzi Layton; three sisters, Timber de Jager, Emily Bass and April Layton; a brother, Alan Layton; two grandchildren, Thomas Furr and Avery Furr; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones.
