Death
Edna was born February 9, 1921, in Mecklenburg County, a daughter of the late Ira Ferguson and Ester Ferguson McNeill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Helms; sister, Blanche Grey; and brothers, Ned Ferguson, Merle Ferguson and Eugene Ferguson. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family and friends. Edna was a retiree of Lincoln Insurance Group and then worked part time for Wachovia. She has been a devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church for over 60 years and was an active member of Midland chapter #260 Order of the Eastern Star since 1957 and has served as past Matron and Treasurer.Endnotes
