Death

Mrs. Patricia Gayle Davis (Gayle) nee Noblin died peacefully in Memphis, TN on December 16, 2023 at the age of 81. Gayle was born September 7, 1942 in Memphis, TN to the late Woodrow and Grace Wylie Noblin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Henry Davis, her brother, Allyn Noblin, and her grandson, Scott Leatherman. She is survived by her children, Donna Leatherman, Denise Furr (Neil), Penny Leatherman, Brian Leatherman (Teresa), Ronald Stafford (Brittany), Donald Stafford (Jamie), Dale Stafford; grandchildren, Blake Nale (Brittni), Austin Sowers (Ali), Grant Furr, Shelbi Leatherman (Michael), Jordyn Stafford, Drew Stafford (Christi), Kathleen Olinger (Kris), Maddison Stafford, brother Glenn Noblin (Mary) as well as eleven great grandchildren. Gayle attended Humes High School in Memphis, TN where she later retired from Humko Corporation. She was also a successful small business owner in the Memphis area, where she was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Gayle was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and attending University of Memphis Tiger football and basketball games. She had a razor sharp wit and will be remembered fondly by her close friends and family for her amusing quips affectionately referred to as "Gayleisms". A visitation for Gayle will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will follow from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Rosemark Cemetery, Millington, TN 38053.
