Anna Jean Bethke, age 94, of Douglasville passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina on December 7, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph E. Travis and the late Annie Vineyard Travis. Anna worked for Life of Georgia Insurance Company where she worked as a secretary and then retired from FEBCO Heating and Air Conditioning where she worked as office manager. She was Baptist by faith. She is survived by her children: Brenda Rodenbeck and her husband, Gary, Mike Bethke and his wife Diana, Vickie Furr; grandchildren: Michelle Spears and her husband, Scott, Jennifer Houston and her husband, Joel, Michael Bethke and his wife, Kami, Shawn Rodenbeck and his wife, Traci, Dara Bethke, Joshua Salter; great grandchildren: Justin Rodenbeck, Ashtyn Houston, Daulton Spears, Tabitha Rodenbeck, Amber Rodenbeck, Madison Smith, Jaret Houston, Blaine Bethke, Riley Bethke; great-great grandchild: D. J. Rush; sisters: Mary Boatright, Betty Smith and her husband, A. J., June Corhan; brother; Harold Travis and his wife, Marjorie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Bethke; sisters: Sue Hicks, Ann Fink; brothers: Grady Travis, Thomas Travis, Jack Travis, Body Travis. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Paul Houston officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, Georgia. Hightower’s Memorial Chapel of Douglasville, Georgia has charge of the arrangements.Endnotes
