Death
Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Sunday 8/13/23 at Weir Baptist Church with burial in the Weir Cemetery. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at Weir Baptist Church instead of Weir Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30PM until time for service at 3:00PM Sunday 8/13/23 at Weir Baptist Church.Hubert Ray Parish, 80, went to his heavenly home 8/12/23 at his residence in Weir, MS. Funeral Services were held 3:00PM Sunday 8/13/23 at the Weir Baptist Church with burial in the Weir Cemetery. Bro. William Bouchillon officiated. Pallbearers were; Caleb and Corey Parish, Trent and Andrew Furr, Seth Meyers and Chase Stephens. He was an active and faithful member of Weir Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; Dewey and Mary Jane Parish, his son; James Ray Parish, his brothers; Charles Parish, his identical twin brother, Kay Parish, and D. L. Parish, his sisters; Wilma Ingram, Christine McCrary, Draper Johnson, Grace Meyers and Betty Henning. Mr. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Barbara Parish, his daughter; Jill (John) Furr, Ackerman, MS, his son; Bert (Elizabeth) Parish, Mathiston, MS, his brother; Rev. Bobby (Jo) Parish, Weir, MS, his sister; Ruth Baily, Gonzales, LA, six grandchildren; Andrew (Casey) Furr, Trent Furr, Leis Parish, Caleb Parish, Chance Stephens and Paige (Henry) Brutus and three great grandchildren; Walker Furr, Riley Furr and Eli Stephens. Ray gave his loving wife Barbara surprise gifts at Christmas and other holidays. She was his constant companion and greatest encourager. He was a loving father and Pa-Pa to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed staying busy with woodworking projects, making pralines for family and friends and was always lending a hand to others. He was proud of his yard and pond and constantly cutting grass and making improvements. Ray was a faithful member of Weir Baptist Church serving as deacon and trustee for many years. He loved his Lord and his Church and enjoyed serving others and sharing his faith. He worked as a mechanic at Garan, Deweese Apparel and Redkap. He also ran the vending route for Coca Cola. Ray Parish was a great man of God and will be truly missed. The family requests any memorials be made to Weir Baptist Church, P. O.
