Death
Della Poorman Hathaway, 97, 6120 Gray St., widow of William O. Hathaway, died Tuesday in Norfolk, Virginia a the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Levert (Althea) Taylor, where she had been visiting since last December. She was born in Randolph County, spent her early years in that area, and later lived in Ohio before moving to Muncie in 1932. Mrs. Hathaway was a member of the Church of God. Surviving besides her daughter in Norfolk are three other daughters, Mrs. James (Treva) Kelly, Muncie, with whom she made her home, Mrs. John (Violet) Giglio, Norfolk, and Mrs. Everett (Helen) Hines, Aldrich, Minn.; three sons, Marion Hathaway, Brighton, Mich., Noel Hathaway, Ashboro, N.C., and Ermal Hathaway, Cherry Valley, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at North Side Church of God at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Elmer Sollenberger, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, until noon Friday, or at the church a half-hour before services.The Muncie Star, March 3, 1976
