Death
It is with great sadness that the family of Stanley “Scooter” Dalton Jr. announced his sudden passing at age 50 on Monday, June 12, 2023. Scooter was born on August 26, 1972 in Houston, Texas son of Stanley Dalton Sr. and Gail Pfenninger. Scooter and his family moved often and he gathered stories from each place that he lived to weave them into the intricate and beautiful lessons of his life. There was no hardship that he couldn’t alchemize into healing and power. Scooter was a dreamer and entrepreneur, with his passion being food and the way it brings communities together. Scooter opened a restaurant where he cooked the most delicious, juicy burgers you could find and later opened a banquet hall where friends and community members gathered to eat, drink and throw axes. Scooter, above all, was dedicated to those he loved and those in need. He was ordained through the Universalist Life Church and officiated many weddings throughout the years to bring people together in love. He was joined with Maggie Furr of Conway, Arkansas on October 31, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Dalton, his daughters Yxlia Dalton Black, Allyssa Dalton and Serenity Dalton as well as his beautiful grandchildren whom he loved deeply. His brothers Adam (Angie) Dalton, Troy (Cassandra) Dalton and sister Correen (Ed) Davis as well his nieces and nephews. His family knew him as a jokester who could light up any room and a man who was committed to bringing the light into dark situations. He was everyone’s cheerleader, always encouraging and supporting those he loved in their endeavors, big and small. He could always be counted on to throw together a delicious meal, give a comforting hug and listen to the sorrows and the joys. As he is welcomed into his final resting place and enter into the gates of Valhalla, he will be forever missed by those he left behind. Scooter will be honored by a celebration of life cookout at Cadron Park in Conway, Arkansas on June 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. Friends and family who cannot attend in person are encouraged to send their condolences to Maggie and to cook a good meal, gather with their community and remember how precious our time together is.Endnotes
