Death
Calvin (Cal) Morgan, 80, of Riverside, Texas passed away November 27, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Morgan was born May 19, 1930 in Skene, Mississippi to Calvin and Carrie Morgan. Cal married Dorothy Ingram August 17, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW. Member of the First United Methodist Church of Riverside, Team Cities, Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Riverside Lions Club, Walker County Democrat Club and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. Mr. Morgan worked as an educator for over 30 years serving at the Pasadena ISD, Pearland ISD, Channelview ISD, and Crosby ISD. He loved to Golf and was an avid deer hunter. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dottie Morgan of Riverside, Texas; Daughter; Lynn and her husband Bob Manley of Van Alystyne, Texas; 2 sons; David and his wife Mary Morgan of Deer Park, TX. and Doyle Morgan of Pasadena, TX. 1 sister Betty Hawes of Hattiesburg MS. Granddaughters; Jennifer Morgan of McKinney, TX. and her Fiancée Tim Wagner. Brittany and her husband Quade Furr of McKinney, TX. and Audra Manley of Van Alystyne, TX. Grandsons; Lt. Lee & his wife Renee Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK. Zachary Morgan of Deer Park, TX. and Clint Manley of Van Alystyne, TX. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dale McGregor. Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Riverside with Pastors David Morgan and Warren Austin officiating. Burial to follow at Riverside Pioneer Cemetery in Riverside Texas. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Monday night November 29 from 6-8 pm at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel, 672 FM 980 Huntsville, TX. Calvin Loved his Savior, Jesus and served Him with all his heart. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. No one enjoyed life with with more joy and humor than Cal. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Odyssey House Hospice, 233 I-45 South Conroe, Texas 77304.Endnotes
