Death

ALBEMARLE - John Reid Cruse, 71, 33426 Old Salisbury Road, Albemarle, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. There will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday, at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service. Military rites preformed at gravesidse by the DAV Veteran's Honor Guard. Mr. Cruse was born May 24, 1937 in Cabarrus County the son of the late Robert Charles Cruse and the late Blanche (Reid) Cruse. He served as a paratrooper while in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his son, Jimmy Cruse; daughters, Kristy (Cruse) Barbee and Marsha (Cruse) Furr; brother, Charles "Bud" Cruse and wife, Wanda, of Concord; nieces, Kelly Shaver, Debra Mitchell and Alethea Morgan; and two grandchildren. The family meeting place will be at the home of his brother, Bud, at 6222 Breezy Lane, Concord. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
