Death

Rosa Lee Tate Riley, 75 of Charlottesville, passed away on Monday November 20, 2006, in a local hospital. Born on February 2, 1931 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Claude Gibson and Dora Currier Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elwood Ruben Tate and Frederick S. Riley, Sr.; a daughter, Vickie Lynn Graves; and two sisters, Ruby Mae Marshall and Virginia Belle Harlow. Rosa Lee had retired from Frank Ix and Sons. She is survived by her children, Roger Tate of Troy, Donna Bennett and her husband Gary of Ruckersville, Dennis Tate of Barboursville and Frederick S. Riley, Jr. and his fiancée Anita Diane Furr of Ruckersville; 11 grandchildren, Candice Michelle Goolsby, Kevin Michael Tate, Lisa Bennett, Cynthia Morris, Jimmy Bennett, Willie Graves, Jr., Sheri Graves, Tim Tate, Crystal Flanagan, Ashley Flanagan and Tyler Furr; 11 great grandchildren, Cody Goolsby, Dylan Goolsby, Crystal Bennett, Joseph Palson, April Burns, Brianna Burns, Robert Lee Morris, Jr., Claudia Morris, Kayla Bennett, Callie McDaniel and Trenton McDaniel; and two great-great-grandchildren, Savannah Bennett an Hanna Morris. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 25, 2006 in the chapel of the Hill and Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening November 24, 2006 from 7 to 8 pm at the funeral home. The family expresses a special thanks to the staff of the Laurels and the ICU at Martha Jefferson Hospital for their loving care of Rosa Lee.
