MOUNT PLEASANT - Minnie Allman Petrea, age 88, of 935 Page St., formerly of 1670 S. Main St., died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Carebridge Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Petrea was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late George Allman and Hettie Boger Allman. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and was known as the Tee Shirt Lady. Mrs. Petrea was preceded in death by a son, Larry Evans, and a daughter, Shirley Pinyan. She is survived by daughter Loretta Allen and husband Steve of Mount Pleasant; son Bruce Barnhardt of Mount Pleasant; sister Dorothy Eury of Columbia Station, Ohio; son- in-law Butch Pinyan of China Grove; grandchildren Kelly Carpenter, Daphne Morton, Ricky Evans, Jason Furr, Melissa Furr, Jordan Furr, Jake Allen and Eric Allen; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Service : The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Mitch Wilson and the Rev. Lewis Whittington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation : The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at Gordon Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
