Death
Norman Warren Moore January 23, 1921 - September 11, 2018 Norman Moore passed away at 97 years old. He was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Mission High School, where he met the love of his life Dolores Herforth who became his devoted wife of 64 years when she passed away in 2006. Norman entered the US Army-Infantry during WWII serving his country in Germany. Upon returning home, he entered the San Francisco Police Department serving the City for 29 years, mostly in the South of Market neighborhood. Norman was the youngest of 10 born to George and Lillian Moore. He was preceded in death by sisters Lily, Margaret, Mary Jane and baby Mary; brothers George, Edward, Robert, William and Frank. He is survived by his loving daughter and son Judith Moore (Wayne Furr) and Garrett Moore (Lorene); grandfather to Megan Peterson (Eric), Brian Moore (Michelle), Daniel Moore (Skye) and great-grandfather to Sean and Evan, Alexandria and Colson, Jacob and Tyler. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Norman spent many of his young summers camping in Fort Bragg, Ca. with his father and brothers where he developed a love of the outdoors. Later he hunted with his brothers and nephews in Covelo, Ca. where they built a family vacation home for all to enjoy. Norman was a thoughtful gentle man and a Patriot who loved his country. Memorial services at Cypress Lawn will be private to the immediate family.San Francisco Chronicle, September 14, 2018
