DANVILLE, Va. - Elva Hall Jordan, 94, formerly of Bromley Drive, died Monday, January 2, 2006 at the residence of her daughter, 348 Peacock Acres Trail in Brosville. Born December 25, 1911, in Franklin County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Giles Lee Hall and Beulah Moran Hall. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker. She was married to the late Malcolm C. Jordan. She is survived by one son, Edward Jordan of Danville; one daughter, Darlene Walker Furr of Danville; one sister, Gladys Smith of Danbury, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a daughter, Christene J. Buchanan; four brothers, Alton Hall, Roscoe Hall, Kyle Hall and Harry Hall, two sisters, Ocie Burroughs and Irene Jarrett, and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alton Bartee officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Barker Funeral Home, 2025 North Main Street. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Danville Hospice Support Group, P.O. Box 2713, Danville, VA 24543.
