Death

Sarah Jean Troutman Owens, 96 years old, of Rockwell, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 12, 2023. Sarah was born on August 21, 1926, in Cabarrus County to the late Homer and Carrie Walters Troutman. Sarah worked as a Tenter Frame Operator at Burlington Industries for seven years. She then went to work for Cannon Mills as Security Officer for 10 years. Sarah was a member of Genesis Baptist Church in China Grove for many years. Sarah was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Billy Troutman. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shirley Ann Furr and her husband Johnny; her sons, Jimmy Wayne Griffin and his wife Annette, Donald Motley and Ray Motley; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Sarah chose to donate her Earthly remains to Wake Forest University School of Medicine for research, therefore there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions can be made to Genesis Baptist Church, 9710 Old Concord Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
