Death

Mrs. Kathryn Norris, 84, died Sunday, January 5, 2003 in Gunter, Texas. She was born January 14, 1918 in Kosse, Texas, the daughter of D.T. Burns and Mary Clark Burns. She graduated from Kosse High School and on December 24, 1925 in Groesbeck, Texas, married John Lee Norris. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1990. She faithfully served as a minister's wife for 55 years and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Surviving Mrs. Norris are her daughters, Thana Furr and husband Joe Ed of Sherman, Texas and Jeanette Goode and husband Robert of San Benito, Texas; sisters, Faye Johnson of Burbank, California and Stella Grindley of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Allen Goode of Dallas, Texas, Tyler and wife Wende of North Carolina, Darren Furr of Dallas and David Furr of Spring, Texas; expected great grandchild, Tristan Norris Goode of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family received friends at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman on Tuesday, January 7, 2003. Services for Kathryn will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. Officiating will be her sons-in-law: Joe Ed Furr and Robert Goode. Interment will follow at Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Allen Goode, Darren Furr, and David Furr, sons-in-law: Joe Furr and Robert Goode; and John Furr, whose father, Edgar Furr, introduced Kathryn and John Norris.
