Robert H. "Red" Parsons Sr., 77, of 2430 Oak Grove Lane, a retired produce manager, died of respiratory failure Monday in Hinds General Hospital. Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Columb's Episcopal Church with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Mr. Parsons, a Madison County native, moved to Jackson in 1921.He was educated in the Jackson Public Schools and was a longtime member of St. Columb's Episcopal Church where served on the vestry. He was active in the Sunday school. He was a produce manager for Jitney Jungle stores for 45 years. Survivors include: daughters, Cathy Furr and Carole Purvis, both of Jackson; son, Robert H. Parsons Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Elizabeth P. Watkins and Margie P. Cratin, both of Fort Worth, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Columb's Episcopal Church or to Mississippi Lung Association.Endnotes
