Death
Shirley J. Furr, 68, passed away September 20th with family at her side. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas. She retired in 1994 as Vice President, Branch Manager of Valley National Bank/Bank One. She graduated Valedictorian, Dayton High School, Dayton Washington, graduated from Kinman Business University, Spokane Washington, obtained a CPS rating, earned AA degree, Glendale Community College, B. S. and B. A. University of Phoenix, a Banking Degree from Pacific Coast Banking School, University of Washington. Shirley was a Soroptimist member and one time President. She was National Chairperson of Membership for Financial Women International. She very much enjoyed her membership with Daughters of the Nile and Ladies of Oriental Shrine. She had recently formed a chapter of the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her mother Madalon Ewing, brother John Ewing and son Richard Furr. Survived by Husband of 46 years J. Allen "Al", sons James B., Michael A., Daughter Kathleen S., and daughter-in-law Michelle, grandchildren Dustin, Renon, Mike, Jenna, Michelle and brother Harley Ewing. Donations may be made to The CEF fund, 1214 S. Nassau, Mesa AZ 85206, or LOS Special Project, 1908 E. Campbell Ave., Phoenix AZ 85016. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 27th at 11 AM at the Shrine Auditorium, 552 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ.
