MT. PLEASANT -- John Lee Fink, 72, of 8226 Barringer Drive, died Monday, April 1, 2002 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Rev. Howard Baker officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Fink was born March 5, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC, son of the late Clarence lee and Bessie Thompson Fink. He was the President of Fink and Barrier Construction Company and a lifetime member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club, a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow awarded by the International Lions Foundation and the Jack Stickley Fellow awarded by NC Lions Foundation, for dedicated humanitarian services. He served on the Cabarrus County Board of Education, Cabarrus County Board of Elections, Mt. Pleasant Town Board, and the Mt. Pleasant ABC Board. A sister, Jean Fink Ridenhour preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Barbara Barrier Fink; sons, John Fink, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Fink and wife, Kelly of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Sharon Campbell and husband, Paul of Mt. Pleasant, Annette Furr and husband, Tim of Concord; brother, Alan Fink and wife, Susie of Newell; sister, Alice Fink Robinson of Charlotte; grandchildren, Anna and Paul Campbell, Brad and Adam Fink, Ross and Ann-Marie Furr, Jackson, Anna-Kelly and Emma Fink. n lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 9400 Gold Hill Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124, Hospice of Cabarrus County, P.O. Box 1235, Concord, NC 28026, or the charity of the donor's choice.
