Death
Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Guy Burnett went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the wonderful age of 78. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: American Heart Association. He was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Enid, Okla., and attended Oklahoma A&M until 1942 when he enlisted in the Army Air Forces. He was stationed in England during World War II and the Berlin airlift as a pilot. Guy and his lifetime partner, Narrine Brown, were married in Gunnison, Miss., on Ground Hog Day, Feb. 2, 1947. Guy graduated from the University of Texas in 1958. Guy retired from the Air Force in 1964 and worked at Bell Helicopter until his retirement in 1986. Guy and Narrine have lived in Euless since 1964. Their son, Guy Jr., and wife, Martha, reside in Helotes. Daughter Karey Furr Lawrence and husband, Dennis, live in Bedford. Grandchildren are Katie Burnett, William T. Burnett and Natalie Furr. Guy adored his family and always had a kind word for everyone he met. He enjoyed playing golf with his many longtime friends, exercising at the park and emailing his children and grandchildren.
