ALBEMARLE — Sarah Jane Furr, 76, of Route 6, Clete Road; died at 6:15 p.m. June 20, 1988, at her home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Richard Almond and Elder Ted Morton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle tonight from 6 to 8. Born April 11, 1912, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Monroe and Laura Jane Furr Furr. A homemaker, she attended Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. A sister, Maggie Leen Furr, died June 7. Survivors include four brothers, Ellis Furr of Mount Pleasant, Homer and Ernest Furr, both of Concord, and Jay Dois Furr of Albemarle: and four sisters, Ethel Eudy and Mrs. Krone (Mary Lou) Eudy, both of Stanfield, Dorsie Furr of the home and Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Almond of Mount Pleasant.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, June 21, 1988
