Mrs. Lynell Yvonne Gibson, age 80 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her residence. Lynell was born in Villa Rica, Georgia on March 9, 1940 the daughter of the late John Christian Martin and Minnie Hembree Martin Wright. She graduated from Villa Rica High School in 1958 and enjoyed a long working career. She began working for Sewell Manufacturing Company, moved on to the Coca Cola Company. Most recently she spent many years working with the Bank of Villa Rica which later became Regions Bank. Lynell was Baptist by Faith and she and her family attended Midway Church. She had a great appreciation for the outdoors and spent time working in her yard and garden. The things she most enjoyed was spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Lynell was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grand mother and friend. To know her was to love her and that contagious smile she carried with her always. She is survived by her husband Donald Gibson of sixty two years, daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya and Ted Furr, Lisa and Don Tillman, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cheryl Gibson of Villa Rica, Georgia; grandchildren, Mackenzie Hope Owens, husband Ethan OWens, Riverside, Alabama, Mason Tillman, Atlanta, Georgia, Luke Furr, Villa Rica, Georgia, Katie Furr, Atlanta, Georgia, Brad Gibson, Villa Rica, Georgia; two great grandchildren, Carter Owens and Addison Owens. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at J. Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Powell and Mr. Kerry Miller officiating. Kelly McCord will provide the music.Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery with Malcom James, Morgan Driver, Don Tillman, Mason Tillman, Ted Furr and Luke Furr serving as pallbearers. During this COVID-19 pandemic, if you choose to attend the visitation and the Funeral Service, we ask that you please remember to remain 6 feet apart from those not in your home and wear personal protective equipment, if available.
