Death

George Adam “Pee-Wee” Hartsell, 68, of Stanfield passed away on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 at Atrium Cabarrus. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26 at 2:00pm at Silver Road Baptist Church in Oakboro. Rev. Gene Hopkins and Rev. Larry Manor will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. George was born on August 15, 1958 to the late George Henry Hartsell and Louise Garren Page. He worked most of his life at Iron Peddlers in Monroe as a mechanic. He was a member of Silver Road Baptist Church in Oakboro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy and Junior Hartsell and his sister, Elizabeth Ann Hartsell. He is survived by his wife, Thesa Furr Hartsell, his children Katie Smith (Steven) of Monroe, Kathy Sharpe (Trey) of Norwood, Crystal Lowery of Wadesboro, Adam Hartsell (Makayla Morton) of Stanfield, his brothers Charlie Hartsell (Betty) of Mt. Pleasant, David Hartsell of Midland, Jerry Hartsell (Mary) of Stanfield, Michael Page of Stanfield, his sisters, Nancy Burke (Wayne) of Marshville, Susie Tarlton (Danny) of Locust and ten grandchildren, Savannah, Solomon, John, Selena, Addison, Sebastian, Brittany, Mason, Emily, and Allison.
